Strategy for playing a heads-up poker hand in a respectable casino when you are either way or way behind,
In almost every hand, someone has the lead and all of the other players are striving to outdraw him. So, someone is always ahead and everyone else is behind. But, a special category of situations termed “Way Ahead or Way Behind” has particular characteristics, and you need to play hands in this category in a specific manner. This column will define the term, give a brief standard example, and look at a hand in which many of the principles come into play. Holdem Rules |

Texas Holdem Mistakes
Limit players know that in games like limit hold’em poker, a large percentage of the pots end up in a showdown. Consequently, in order to win, you usually need to have the best hand at showdown, and the best way to accomplish this is by start ing with the best hand. But in no-limit hold’em, especially in casino tournaments and/or cash games in which the money is deep, a large number of pots are decided way before the showdown. This means that it is often not as important which cards you hold as it is how you play them. Texas Holdem Mistakes |

Two players limped in from early position in a full $30- $60 limit hold’em ring game. Thanks to a quick Neteller deposit I was in late position, two off the button, holding two kings, and raised the pot to $60. Everyone folded behind me, including the two blinds, and both limpers called. Holdem Player |
